Summer blazer

I adore this CK blazer. It is a very light cotton fabric (both in the sense of weight and color) perfect for the summer. The details I like include the subtle square patterns and the chest pocket on the left. It is not too hot to have on while walking the streets and yet it provides warmth when in ACed offices. I can wear this to a business meeting without having to put on a stuffy suit. The shape is fitted but not a close fit (perfect to the warm weather).

Yellow accents

Yellow is all the rage. Think of Michelle O on inaugration day. It pops against black but also pairs amazingly well with gray and navy below.
For my skin tone, it is not the most flattering color. A little bit of yellow, however, could spice up an otherwise dull outfit. My outfit is a yellow belt with a simple black virgin wool dress.

Dress: JCrew

Belt: Sisley

Shoes: Barney's Coop

The back of the dress is closed with buttons rather than a zipper.

Black Gray and Blue

This is the ultimate color combo for office IMO (in my opinion) because it is calming, classic and chic at the same time.

In the spirit of building a lean wardrobe, I'm going to make this combo work for all seasons. For colder days, layer on a simple black cardigan such as this one from Banana Republic. I already own a black Banana Republic wool blazer with mandarin collar that could also work beautifully with this.

Work Wardrobe

It's been my obsession to have a wardrobe that suits a conservative corporate environment, possesses an understated sassiness, and represents what I aspire to be.

Countless items have been bought and discarded (donated) for various reasons. Tons of money has been poured into the project (dressing me for work). And yet, when standing in front of my closet in the morning, I still wonder almost every other day, what should I wear to work?

This blog attempts to inventory ideas for putting together outfits fitting the standards described above and acts as a reminder on the I-don't-know-what-to-wear days that I in fact do (hopefully) have some decent outfits to my name.
